Nissan has unveiled the fourth generation Sylphy at the 2019 Shanghai Motor Show, showcasing an all-new design and further loaded with Nissan’s Intelligent Mobility technologies to give drivers more connectivity, comfort and confidence.

The stance that the Sylphy gives off is part of the design. At the front, the three-dimensional V-Motion grille in black showcases the current design language while the lean and striking proportions create a sense of motion even when the car is stationary. The lower profile and streamlined exterior is one that contributes to decreased wind resistance and has been sculpted to have a drag coefficient of just 0.26, the same of that with the Nissan GT-R.

Underneath the hood lies an all-new Nissan HR16DE Gen3 1.6-litre engine mated to a Xtronic CVT. The new powertrain technologies boost engine stability and fuel efficiency and provide a linear, smooth driving experience. Steering, suspension and body rigidity have been enhanced to improve handling and deliver a more solid driving feel.

Inside, the Sylphy offers features that have been designed for increased comfort and convenience. The 8-inch centre colour display and the 7-inch high-def monitor shows drive information and readings from the car’s sensors are arranged inside the meter assembly.

Thanks to the long wheelbase, the cabin is spacious for five and sit on the soft 3D Multilayer ergonomic seats. Official photos here showcase the tan interior with diamond-cut quilting pattern on the seats, but sporty black and light grey will also come as options.

The range of Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies mentioned earlier are seamless smartphone connectivity and intelligent voice command. The Integrated Dynamic Control Module uses targeted brake applications after the vehicle encounters a bump of undulation to immediately improve the level of the body, thus enhancing ride quality. Driver assistance technologies include Intelligent Trace Control, Intelligent Ride Control and Emergency Brake for Pedal Misapplication.

As for the list of safety technologies, the Sylphy will come with Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Cross Traffic Alert and Intelligent Driving Alert to support the driver in anticipating and avoiding hazardous situations.
